Looking Back
Looking Back (installation view)
1989/ongoing
Silver prints
11″ x 14″ each
Description:
Looking back began in 1989 as an inventory of photographs of all the people I know. Each image is made with available light and printed approximately life size. In each photograph the subject makes eye contact with me and when these photographs are shown in massive grids, the effect is that hundreds of faces are looking back at the viewer. The individual photographs are not meant to be considered portraits, rather the entire project is meant to be considered a self portrait.
